MISSION CREEK PARK
Mission Creek Park is the first of many parks and open spaces being developed
in the Mission Bay neighborhood of San Francisco. Mission Creek Park is
divided into north and south areas by the waterway known as Mission Creek.
The park is located just several blocks southwest of AT&T Ballpark. The
area located on the south side of the creek is comprised of 3 acres of rolling
green grass, trees, pathways, benches and a small outdoor amphitheatre. On
the west side of this portion of the park is a floor to ceiling glass and
brick Pavilion that is available for special events. Available near this
beautiful building are public restrooms, a water fountain and seating areas.
The northern portion of Mission Creek Park runs parallel to Mission Creek
between Fourth and Seventh Streets. Here you will find a tiled pathway leading
to a viewing platform that overlooks Mission Creek. Benches are strategically
placed along this esplanade so that one can rest and enjoy the many landscape
and water features along with the abundance of waterfowl that visit the area.
Further down the esplanade is a public boat launch for non-motorized boats,
mainly kayaks. Three types of sports courts are located in this area:
basketball, sand volleyball and a tennis court. Toward the end of Berry Street
is a fenced dog play area where dogs may enjoy off leash activities. The Park
Maintenance Facility is also located at this end of the park at: 451 Berry
Street.
